Any Palestinian living in hardship who would otherwise be unable to afford university or college fees can apply for a full grant to cover the costs of their tuition fees for the duration of the course. (Ahdaf does not provide financial assistance for subsistence or travel costs.) Applicants have to demonstrate their eligibility for funding by completing an application form. All applications must also be supported by a teacher who can speak for the applicant's academic standard and suitability.

As part of the agreement between Ahdaf and the student, the student is required to conceive and deliver a project in the local community, which should last for the duration of their studies.
